EARLY YEARS PRACTITIONER TO LEAD BABY ROOM IN IPSWICH TOWN, LONDON

Small World Kindergarten & Montessori is a private day nursery, within walking distance of Ipswich town and its various transport links (10 minutes). Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ (in May 2021) and set in a purpose-built nursery, It provides high quality care and Montessori education for up to 40 children between 11months and 5 years term time or all year.

This role is full time, for up to 41.5 hours per week – between 8.00am-6.00pm.

Salary up to £19,000 per annum dependant on experience.

The Role:

  • Leading all aspects of provision for the 11– 30 month olds.
  • Monitoring and role modelling ‘Outstanding’ practice
  • Observing, assessing, and planning for the children’s individual needs, ensuring their development is continuously monitored and create opportunities for children to progress.
  • Managing the running of the room.
  • Creating and implementing positive parent partnerships by communicating effectively and giving regular updates ensuring every child’s progress is recorded via our learning journey app ‘EyLog’ (training provided)..
  • Developing staff practice ensuring staff development.

About you:

  • You must have a Minimum of 2 Years’ experience with babies
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team to deliver ‘outstanding practice consistently’.
  • You will hold a full and relevant childcare qualification, minimum Level 3 in Childcare or Montessori Diploma.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding/child protection
  • Strong Communication skills – good command of spoken and written English.

Looking for a caring, nurturing nanny, who has knowledge of the Montessori method. Someone who uses child-led learning and respectful care to encourage independence.

Duties:
• All nursery duties (except ironing)
• Organising / preparing age-appropriate activities following the Montessori educational philosophy
• Role modelling and providing a developmentally appropriate environment
• Observing the child’s centre of interests and presenting new activities accordingly
• Engaging with the child
• Preparing meals from scratch every day for the child (no ready- made meals) and support meal preparation for the family (confidence in cooking is required)
